UTM Time Trial

A very disappointing event because only 5 people turned up for the masum selection trial out.
If the condition continue, there might be less support for us from Unit Sukan in the future.
We hope that all of you will remember our own responsible to university, to our team and also most importantly to ourselves.
It is very easy to keep an eye shut for certain things, and just pretend that it is not important.
Yes, it might not be important to ourselves for present moment, but the next generation will have to struggle in order regain the trust and support from Unit Sukan.
Hope we can always stay united even though there is no more team event in Towerthon.
Gan, Ong and Ah lo have clocked good timing and also promising room for more improvement.
Ha, for myself, i already try my best but just can finished 5k in 20 minutes, far from the required standard set by Unit Sukan.
Looking at the current condition, it seem like I were getting further from my target in masum.
Despite all my training and preparation, i am not on the right track to reach my goal.
Maybe my effort so far was not good enough, maybe 'try my best' is still not enough, i think i should reflect myself and find a way to break this 'barrier'
*pls, take note that we still have around 3-4 more stadium larkin training sessions before we end this semester. take the chance to do some pace training/running on track. it is really beneficial

Bareno Run 2011

One of the favourable run of the year

A huge turnout for this run, even though the registration fee is quite expensive and it is not held at strategically places, such as Dataran Merdeka . A lot can be learn from the organiser as they successfully attract the public to join the race. From starting of the race, there are a lot marshals along the route guiding and distributing the “pengikat rambut” to the runners. There a plenty of water stations and the best part, energy gel was provided for Half Marathon runners. After the race, there are abundance things to eat, cendol, tau fu fa, rean bean soup was offered to exhausted runners in great number.
Gan did very well in 10km races, placing 7th. Congrat to him. He has been very disciplined in training and always look for related information to update himself in running and cycling. Hope more kakithoner can have that kind of spirit.
I finished the race in 1 hour 46 min. Placing 70th. Not really a good run, a very significant indicator that shows how much i need to work harder and reflect on my training.
This year no more team event for towerthon, but we will still continue our training like usual, the spirit should continue. Hope, there will be a miracle.
Next week 25-27 march is the masum selection period.
Make sure everyone attend all the training session.
Time trial will be held at stadium larkin, 26 march.
Masum is on 21-23 june.
prepare well and hope for the best.

Those who wish to join night run on 1st April, can pass the form to me by this week or you can directly register at unit sukan.

Back in UTM, Skudai.
Two runs to be remember

FTAAA Cross Country And Larian Gemilang,UM

We depart on 3pm from UTM Skudai, and reach UTMKL around 8pm and stay at K2.
We are very fortunate because we manage to gain financial support from our university.
Quite hilly run but under distance.
Gan, Ong Zaheen and myself manage to get no 9,10,11 ( got hamper le ) and 23.
Even though Ah Hsiung and Ah Long run very hard, but still unable to fight for a medal (takpe2, next sure can get one)
Li Ting got no 6 (very sayang, hehe) and Loh no 20 (good job for 1st timer)
Kar Sing did a fantastic and a very respectful act to pace with Li Ting ( very kind hearted le)

The next day, we went 4 KL cross country at padang merbok.
Variety of routes, (normal pavement+jungle trail+staircase+grass)
Very interesting, but also very confusing, a lot runners got lost and need to stop to look 4 direction.
Hope they can improve it next year.
The sad story here is Zaheen.
He was way in front but got lost around Masjid Negara and didn't finish the race as the top contender.
Somehow, the brighter side is that regain back confident as a speedy runner.
Ong and Gan finished at no 7 and 8 while myself, Kar Sing and Ah Hsiung can only be contended with a finisher medal.
Li Ting is the big winner, 3 placing and she got a new pair of shoe (congratx2)
Loh also did great by finished at 9th.
We got 4 runners from UTMKL who join us for this run, a job well done for all of them since they are still very new in this field, hehe (Ah Long had done well scouting for new runners in kl.)
If you all still wish that we can continue to be sponsored 4 our next outing, then plsxx1000
